FAQs

What is upcycling?

up·cy·cle
/ˈəpˌsīkəl/
verb
1. reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.
"the opportunity to upcycle trash, or turn it into new products, was vast"
At maritime moose, we upcycle discarded and damaged knitwear and other textiles. That means we are reusing materials with holes, tears, or stains that people aren't using anymore, and turning them into new, high quality pieces. Unraveling the yarn completely also means we get to thoroughly wash all the nooks and crannies of the material, so every inch is completely refreshed before being remade into something new.

I like one of your items, but I want it in a different colour/size.

Send us an e-mail or fill out the custom request form with your preferred colour or size and we'll make your vision come to life! Prices will vary depending on materials used, size of project, etc. All custom requests will be reviewed and responded to within 1-2 business days.

I have some old sweaters, can I send them to you?

Yes! Please get in touch by using the contact page on the website, e-mailing pam@maritimemoose.ca, or sending us a DM on instagram @maritimemoose. We are always happy to accept gently used knits such as sweaters, cardigans, or blankets that cannot be donated. You will also receive a 10% off discount code each time you send in materials!

Where do you ship?

Shipping is available worldwide! Rates will vary depending where you live.

How long will my order take to get to me?

Most orders are fulfilled and shipped out within 5-7 business days of the order being placed. Custom requests may take up to two weeks to be processed due to the availability of upcycled materials and the time it takes to handcraft each item.

Due to COVID-19, delivery times are highly variable in Canada as well as internationally and we therefore ask that you are patient with us and postal service employees! If you think an item might be lost in transit or you have any other issues with your order, please send an e-mail to pam@maritimemoose.ca or fill out the form on our contact page!
